The Office of Public Affairs of the International Broadcasting Bureau is
responsible for publicizing in the United States the work and mission of the IBB.
The IBB broadcast elements include the Voice of America (VOA), which is on the
air in 45 languages daily; the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB), under which
are Radio Marti and TV Marti; the Office of Engineering and Technical Services,
providing engineering and broadcasting support for all U.S. government
non-military broadcasters; and a number of other support elements within IBB.
To support the daily broadcast activities of VOA and OCB, the Office of
Public Affairs handles all media relations and inquiries as well as escorting
visiting camera crews from outside news organizations, arranging interviews with
broadcasters and staff, writing editorials to promote IBB activities or to
respond to public comments made about IBB, and arranging newsmaker news
conferences for visiting officials of foreign governments. The Office's staff
also writes press releases, issues media advisories, and conducts other
promotional activities to heighten awareness of IBB.
The Office of Public Affairs has launched a new Studio Tour that is
open to the Public. Tours begin promptly at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday from the Independence Avenue entrance (excluding
